CORONABEACH (Jonathan Stoker)

33 year old Jonathan Stoker originall came from Yardley, PA in the U.S.A., and he moved to Cancun Mexico 12 years ago, in 1996, where he worked for Hotel Crown Paradise as an Activities director for four years. After that, he tried his hand in vacation property sales, from which he discovered his hidden talent of reading people and their body language.

With this latent talent, he quickly rose above the ranks to the top of the business, where he won Salesman of the Year on his very first year-- an exceptional feat. After his stint as a sales man, he moved into more management- oriented field. Currently, he is the assistant manager in Playa Del Sol Resorts in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.

His first exposure to serious poker began when he observed one particular gentleman playing in the computer in Nuevo Vallarta. Stoker asked the person what he keeps doing each day, to which the gentleman replied “Poker!” very enthusiastically.

This is when the fun started. He then started to play Poker as an in house hobby. He bought a laptop and registered at Pokerstars, where he slowly began to learn the rules, and engage in many games. His was an uphill battle, having no practical experience but through watching TV poker, reading many books about poker, and studied plenty of videos, he managed to get the hang of it. Furthermore, his wife supported him, inspiring him to play at his current level. He continued to keep playing in various casinos, and Pokerstars, for online poker.

Despite having less experience than most other players in the professional circuit, he still managed to make his way to the World Poker Tournament in Barcelona.
